I. Call to order - Susan Moreland called the meeting to order at 9:40am.

II. Minutes of the September 6, 2007 meeting - Georgene made a motion to accept the minutes of the last meeting. Celeste seconded the motion. Motion passed and minutes were accepted.

III. Rick Payette - OSL

1. The cutover of Millennium and network services from the old offices to the new OSL offices will take place this month. The exact date will be announced at the quarterly OSL meeting on November 8th. While equipment is being moved there will be down time that business day.
2. Deep Freeze - a total of 2100 Deep Freeze licenses were purchased by OSL for use by OSL libraries. Deep Freeze updates will be on the support FTP site. Contact Rick if you want help migrating from an older version.
   
3. Champlin Grant - No word yet on the grants. Decision from Champlin should come soon. All grant PCs will be purchased in December this year. They will be Dell Optiplex GX745s with Vista, but with down-gradable rights to XP. Millennium does not run with Vista yet. Staff machines should run XP. Rick is not recommending service pack 3 for XP.

IV. Discussion of the Venmill Disc Repair machines- Those committee members who purchase a Venmill disc repair machine reported on their experiences with the new machines. Most of the group had favorable reviews and are happy with the performance of the machines.

V. Next Meeting Topic - Rick will demonstrate Deep Freeze 6.3 at the January 3, 2008 meeting at the North Kingstown Free Library.

VI.      Other

1. Georgene asked if anyone was upgrading to Office 2007. Some patrons are coming in with Office 2007 docx files. Rick mentioned that the Service Pack 3 for Office 2003 includes a converter which will open Office 2007 files.
